Mamma Mia Costume Design

I was Assistant Costume Designer in the musical Mamma Mia. In this role, I worked with the designer, one of the costuming teachers at my school, to design the wardrobe and special costumes for around 50 cast members. There were over 150 costumes in the show. Some of my main responsibilities included keeping track of the costumes needed and already procured, as well as how and when we were acquiring each costume piece. Many of the costume pieces were to be brought in by cast members and I made sure that they were brought in, organized, and in line with the show design. I also led a crew of younger students and taught them how to keep the costumes organized, as well as teaching them how to do quick changes and assigning them to positions on the costuming crew. I also designed and sewed the six ABBA-inspired costumes in collaboration with the costume designer.
